Cannock Chase Funding available
Cannock Chase AONB Sustainable Development fund is now open for applications. Do you have a project in mind that will make a difference to the landscape, wildlife, heritage, and communities of Cannock Chase?
The funding is available to community groups, schools, organisations, and individuals and even if you do not live or work in the AONB area you may still be eligible if your project will have a positive impact on the area.
Examples of projects previously funded include:-
- Installation of bird and bat boxes
- Creating wildlife gardens
- Production of information boards, leaflets and a video
- Wildlife surveys such as the 2022 Cannock Chase Quinquennial Breeding Bird Survey and research projects
- Heritage projects including Lens on the Past
- Providing access to art and eco-therapy to clients with a mental health diagnosis
Applicants are normally expected to contribute at least 25% of total project costs either from their own reserves, other funding sources, or ‘in kind’ contributions such as volunteer time or the loan of premises or equipment. For smaller grants of £500 or under funding could be given up to 100% of the project costs.
We want to hear from you now.
All you need to do is email cannockchase@staffordshire.gov.uk with your project idea and we will send the application form to you.
For further information on the fund see Funding – Cannock Chase (cannock-chase.co.uk)
The closing date for applications is midnight 16th May 2023 and projects must be completed by 31st March 2024.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
