New role in the AONB team
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Landscape Planning Officer
Could you make a difference to one of England’s finest landscapes? We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed landscape planner to join the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Team to help conserve and enhance this nationally important landscape.
Main Responsibility
You will provide landscape-related planning input on behalf of the AONB Partnership to local planning authorities, reviewing impacts and offering clear and reasoned advice. You will also advise on strategic planning policies to ensure the AONB and its wider setting are considered and protected.
There will also be great opportunities to get involved in pro-active projects – from promoting dark skies and undergrounding power lines to fixed point photography and arts projects.
The Ideal Candidate
To succeed in this role, you will need relevant qualifications and technical understanding, excellent interpersonal skills to communicate well at all levels with the public, elected members, and colleagues alike. You’ll also need initiative and good organisational skills.
The role is hybrid – based in Stafford, but flexible working from home also possible. The role will include travel throughout the Cannock Chase AONB.
For an informal discussion about the role please contact Ian Marshall, AONB Team Leader, ian.marshall@staffordshire.gov.uk or telephone 01785 276051 / 07989 148731.
